Abstract: This project will continue the harbor seal biological sample collection program begun under Project /244. The program was initiated in FY 96 and expanded in FY 97 in Prince William Sound, lower Cook Inlet, and Kodiak Island. Under the biosampling program, village-based technicians are selected by the Alaska Native Harbor Seal Commission and trained by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to collect samples. The samples are transported to Anchorage or Kodiak for further sampling and distribution to participating scientists for analysis. Under Project 99245, the Alaska Native Harbor Seal Commission will also organize a two-day workshop, and produce and distribute a newsletter with summaries of the biological sampling program.Proposal: Not Available
