Abstract: This project will expand the biological sample collection program funded by the Trustee Council in FY 96 in Prince William Sound and lower Cook Inlet to two Kodiak Island communities and Valdez. Village-based technicians will be selected by the Alaska Native Harbor Seal Commission (ANHSC) and trained to collect samples and transport the samples for analysis. The traditional knowledge database distributed in FY 96 will be updated and produced on CD-ROM. Maps depicting harbor seal subsistence harvest areas will be prepared. The ANHSC will organize a workshop and produce and distribute a newsletter. (Village-based technicians will be located in Cordova, Chenega Bay, Tatitlek, Seldovia, Port Graham, Nanwalek, Valdez, and two communities on Kodiak Island).Proposal: Not Available
