Abstract: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service estimates that between 3,500 and 5,500 sea otters were killed by crude oil in the first months after the EVOS, and that sea otters were still being injured by oil in the environment three years later. Restoration studies in 1993-94 will supply additional information on population size and distribution. This project will monitor the population to assess whether or not there is evidence of recovery and obtain data to evaluate condition of sea otters and possible pathologies that may be contributing to continued injury in the population.Proposal: Not Available
