Abstract: The EVOS directed attention to the Prince William Sound (PWS), and as a result, land owners and managers have experienced an increased demand for recreational opportunities. PWS is comprised of federal, state and private land, therefore a variety of land management plans have been adopted. The recreational management of the PWS area has caused conflict between different interest and user groups. As a continuation of a previous project, this project is focused on the restoration of recreation in PWS. Potential recreation restoration projects will be identified, prioritized, and described through public participation at meetings and workshops. Comments are currently being gathered to develop a final project report that includes the findings of the special designation research, a statement of injury to PWS recreation, and the basis for future recreation restoration activities.
