Abstract: The harlequin ducks collected under Project 02423, and being held in captivity at the Alaska SeaLife Center, have contracted a virus that has rendered them unreleasable. These additional funds will allow additional information to be collected on these ducks during their lifespan. A refined reovirus study will take place at the national Wildlife Health Center in Wisconsin. A feeding trial to determine the role of Vitamins K and E in a severe coagulopahty that was observed in several of the ducks will be conducted at the Alaska SeaLife Center. A third study will assess stress in the ducks based on adrenal corticoid output--this study will be supported by UAF Wildlife Analytical Services at no cost to the Trustee Council. Four publications are anticipated from this additional work.Proposal: Not Available
