Abstract: This project will bring together, from all of the oil spill-affected communities, elders and other traditional knowledge bearers and youth, as well as principal investigators from EVOS-sponsored research projects to create a forum for the exchange of information between Western scientific ways of knowing and traditional ways of knowing. The forum will give rise to possible collaborative efforts between local community members and research scientists designing FY 99 restoration projects. In addition, it will facilitate a reexamination of the positive outcomes from the Community Conference on Subsistence and the Oil Spill sponsored by the Trustee Council in October 1995. Funds were provided in FY 97 for preliminary conference planning. Funds requested in FY 98 will be for holding the conference itself, which is scheduled to be held in Cordova in May 1998.Proposal: Not Available
