Abstract: Proposal would construct a detailed genetic linkage map for pink salmon by analyzing the genetic transmission of several hundred DNA polymorphisms. The ability to genetically map the location of oil-induced lesions will allow the thorough identification, description, and understanding of oil induced genetic damage. This research will also aid other pink salmon studies including estimation of straying rates, description of stock structure, and testing if marine survival has a genetic basis.
