Abstract: Research sponsored by the Trustee Council has provided an astonishing amount of information on the ecology of the spill area and represents the largest single infusion of data on natural resources in the northern Gulf of Alaska. There is an urgent need to synthesize the information across projects to realize its maximum benefit to the public and management agencies, and to provide a cogent demonstration of the overall value of the restoration program. It is the goal of this project to have made substantial progress on such a synthesis in time for the 10 Years After symposium, and to use this synthesis to build the foundation for long-term monitoring in the spill area. The specific objectives involve coordinating work on synthesis products, facilitating the efforts to develop and apply food-web models of the spill area ecosystem, and developing a long-term plan for research and monitoring in the spill area.Proposal: Not Available
