Abstract: This project will develop an island-wide waste management plan for Kodiak Island in order to remove chronic sources of marine pollution and solid waste that may be affecting recovery of resources and services injured by the oil spill. The plan will focus on the six remote coastal villages which currently do not have adequate waste management practices and facilities. The master plan will be oriented towards achieving practical, measurable results through a project approach that involves the villages working together with the Kodiak Area Native Association and the Kodiak Island Borough to identify and implement opportunities for cost-effectively reducing sources of marine pollution.Proposal: Not Available
