Abstract: To develop the means to quantitatively rank the value for murrelets of lands considered for protection following the EVOS, this project will use the data from this project and previous years of murrelet and habitat surveys. Marbeled murrelet sites will be examined and site characteristics of both forested and unforested areas will be recorded. Data will be entered into a Geographic Information System to evaluate the relationship between marbled murrelet activity and the pattern and composition of habitat patches. Models could then be applied toward identifying potential habitat areas for protection. A pilot study on the use of marine radar to quantify inland murrelet activity will be conducted. In addition, a pilot study on the capture and radio-tagging of murrelets will be conducted.Proposal: Not Available
