Abstract: In March 1999, the 10th anniversary of the oil spill, the Trustee Council will sponsor a five-day symposium in Anchorage. The Alaska Sea Grant Program and the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens' Advisory Council will be cosponsors. This public symposium will open with an overview session on the oil spill and the restoration program, followed by more technical sessions. The symposium will be the centerpiece of several related efforts, including a traveling exhibit in spill-region communities and a special edition of the annual status report. This project also includes funding support for two activities of the Oil Pollution Prevention Education Program, an art and essay contest and an informational newspaper. The art and essay contest will be open to school children throughout the spill area. The newspaper will be distributed through school districts in the spill area and at the Alaska SeaLife Center as part of the EVOS exhibit.Proposal: Not Available
