Abstract: In 1992 the Burke Museum received emergency funds from the National Science Foundation to salvage about 1,500 of the most valuable bird carcasses from the oil spill. A year later the museum received another NSF grant to support the preparation, curation and storage of these specimens; unfortunately, that funding was not adequate to complete these tasks. This proposal seeks funds to complete the preparation and curation of the remaining birds salvaged from the spill for the Burke Museum.
