Abstract: The purpose of the Evaluation Process and Imminent Threat Habitat Protection Process is to provide a conceptual framework and strategy for habitat protection and to serve as a guide to the Trustee Council. Central to this strategy is the requirement that a) the Trustee Council approve a list of candidate lands recommended by the Restoration Team for detailed evaluation and b) the Trustee Council approve the actual purchases of title or property rights. Candidate lands will be evaluated, protection tools and appropriate boundaries will be determined and proposals will be ranked. Details of the proposed habitat protection and acquisition process are presented in Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Restoration Framework Supplement, July 1992.
