Abstract: Significant concentrations of surface and subsurface residual oil from the Exxon Valdez spill remain at locations in southwest PWS near the village of Chenega Bay. Residents continue to express uncertainty about the health of subsistence resources in the area and cite residual oiling as the source of that uncertainty. This project would reduce or remove tar, asphalt, emulsion, and contaminated soils from shorelines identified as high priority by the village residents.
