January 24, 2002 Detecting and Understanding Change in Nearshore Environments

This workshop was held to plan for habitat mapping in the Gulf of Alaska that would contribute to the EVOSTC Gulf Ecosystem Monitoring (GEM) program. This was the third in a series of workshops with scientists, resource managers and community stakeholders.

January 1 - 4, 2003 Marine Science for the Northeast Pacific

This four-day workshop brought together researchers from across the U.S. to discuss issues important to Alaska's marine resources and the communities that depend on them. Topics included the role of ocean processes and climate in primary productivity, research on the causes of Steller sea lion declines, citizen monitoring and community involvement in marine research, and the status of marine birds, fish and mammals.
